BYD

Battery storage from BYD

BYD is one of the world's leading battery manufacturers. The BYD B-Box is very popular in the PV and home sector and is therefore compatible with almost all hybrid and battery inverters. Both high-voltage and 48V batteries are available. This offers many options for both DC and AC storage systems.

Optimize your self-consumption

Why BYD?

BYD is one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, and the BYD Battery-Box (B-Box) offers high efficiency, modular expandability, long service life, a high level of safety, and broad compatibility with many inverters. A major advantage is the ability to expand the storage system at any time, helping you stay well prepared for the future. Advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology provides a safe and efficient storage solution for a wide range of applications.

Modular expandability

With additional expansion modules, BYD batteries can also be expanded later on and adapted to your electricity demand.

BYD battery storage types

48 V / low-voltage battery: Battery-Box LVS and LVL

  • With the LVS, 1–6 battery modules (4 kWh each) can be connected, resulting in the following capacity options: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 24 kWh. In addition, up to 16 battery towers (each 16 kWh) can be connected in parallel, enabling a total capacity of up to 256 kWh.
  • The BYD Battery-Box LVL has a capacity of 15.36 kWh. It is not modularly scalable, but up to 64 LVL units can be connected in parallel, allowing a total capacity of up to 983 kWh.

High-voltage battery: Battery-Box HVM and HVS

  • The HVS series can be built with 2 to 5 battery modules and provides up to 12.8 kWh.
  • The HVM series can be built with 3 to 8 battery modules, providing up to 22.08 kWh.
  • With both versions, up to 3 battery towers of the same capacity can be connected in parallel using a Combiner Box. All cables should be the same length.

The main difference between HVM and HVS is the charge/discharge current. The HVM can deliver up to 50 A, while the HVS delivers 25 A. However, due to its higher voltage, the HVS is the more efficient battery.
  HVS HVM
Battery modules 2.56 kWh 2.76 kWh
Size comparison example HVS 10.2: 585 x 298 x 1178 mm HVM 11.0: 585 x 298 x 1178 mm
Capacity range 5.1 - 12.8 kWh (up to 3 directly in parallel: 38.4 kWh) 8.3 - 22.1 (up to 3 directly in parallel: 65.1 kWh)
Capacity steps 5.1 / 7.7 / 10.2 / 12.8 8.3 / 11.0 / 13.8 / 16.6 / 19.3 / 22.1

BYD storage systems are compatible with a wide range of hybrid and battery inverters. Since not every variant can be combined with every inverter, you can find an overview in the BYD compatibility list (version 2.19, as of February 2025).
