my-PV

Smart devices from my-PV

my-PV GmbH is an Austrian company that specializes in solar-electric heat generation. Since 2011, it has been developing innovative solutions for the use of solar energy for hot water and heating. The company building in Sierning is supplied entirely by solar electricity.

Here you can find the compatible manufacturers.

Heating with Solar Power

Elwa DC

Elwa DC is designed so that the solar modules can be directly connected to the Elwa DC. The maximum open-circuit voltage is 360 volts with an operating current of up to 10 A. An MPP tracker extracts maximum power from the solar modules. Due to the direct connection, no registration with the energy supplier is required.

Power specification: In solar operation, max. 2000 watts and for backup hot water supply with a Schuko plug, max. 750 watts.

AC Elwa 2

AC Elwa 2 is a device for the stepless regulation of hot water generation for grid-connected PV systems. A heating element is installed in a hot water or buffer storage tank and operated with excess power from the PV system. The stepless regulation allows zero feed-in to the grid.

  • AC Elwa 2 with my-PV Power Meter: In combination with My-PV's power meter, only surplus PV energy is used. The heating power is continuously regulated, increasing self-consumption. Connection is possible via Ethernet RJ45, WLAN, RS485 PWM-in, and a potential-free contact.
  • AC Elwa 2 with battery storage: If a battery storage system is available, it takes priority. Only when the battery is fully charged does AC Elwa 2 use the excess power for water heating.
  • AC Elwa 2 with Smart Home: The system control is designed to communicate with many commercially available smart home and energy management systems. Since control comes from the smart home system, complex regulations can be implemented by selectively controlling consumers.

AC THOR / AC THOR 9s

The AC THOR is a photovoltaic power manager. It can be used for hot water heating and controlling space heating. Excess PV power is continuously used for selected consumers. The AC THOR can control one heating element from 0-3000 watts, while the AC THOR 9s can regulate up to three heating elements of 0-3000 watts each. Both devices have a switching contact with a maximum of 16 A to control a contactor or relay, allowing the heating power of the AC THOR and AC THOR 9s to be expanded. Settings can be made directly via the built-in touch display without additional devices.

  • AC THOR with my-PV Power Meter: In combination with My-PV's power meter, excess PV electricity is used to continuously operate electric heating devices such as heating rods, heating mats, or infrared panels.
  • AC THOR with battery storage: If a battery storage system is available, the AC THOR acts as a hybrid storage system, using hot water and the building mass to utilize excess PV energy secondarily. The battery storage can be prioritized.
  • AC THOR with Smart Home: The system control is designed to communicate with many commercially available smart home and energy management systems. Since control comes from the smart home system, complex regulations can be implemented by selectively controlling consumers.
